My 92 Pathfinder has always given off a lot of heat from the front floor
board- heat from under the carpeted area and most heat coming from the
"hump" that separates the front seats. If you peel back the carpet and
touch the metal it can get quite hot.
Sharing my solution-- I bought some radiant barrier for my home attic and
water heater- the stuff works great (it is basically tin foil that you can
not tear). Using the extra I laid it under the carpet of my pathy. It
works really well. I never realized how much radiant heat was coming up
from the firewall/above the trans bell housing into the cabin but it is gone
now.
