Default Nav freezes

On a couple of occasions the nav on a 2004 C4S freezes in one location. It
actually froze in a location 10 miles north of where the car had been. In
the first case this corrected itself after about 60 miles, in the second it
did so after 85 miles. Nothing had been done with any of the tires. What
causes this and how should it be corrected?
