Default '86 944 hood - source for the gas springs

I know it's a common problem, but the gas springs that hold
up the hood on my '86 944T are dead. Can I get them
refilled or is there a reasonable cost replacement. Can
anyone steer me to a good, not too expensive, source?

Thanks

you just have to replace them, or do as some folks do and use a beer or soda
bottle. You can get them many places, try importedcarparts.com for
example - look around - there are ones with lifetime guarantees for more $$.
AND this is very important - be careful when replacing them that you don't
lift the hood too far and break the windshield (ask me how I know this....)
