Alfa 75 Seats
The foam in my driver's seat is pretty much shot, although the fabric is
still almost perfect.
I'm sort of assuming that having new foam cut for it is a bit of a
specialist job, *if* I can find anyone who'll do it for me.
However, looking around ebay, there's loads of more recent cars being
broken for spares, and I was wondering if the seats from something like
a 164 will bolt into a 75 without too much hassle.
Any ideas?

Apparently any furniture maker / upholsterer can do it. Not tried yet

Too much cash, when you can pick up a pair of 164 / 156 leather seats
for under 100 quid on ebay.

I reckon it's the only way. I've looked at all sorts of options and
came up with new seats or new foam.

When looking for seats for the 116 you tend to find that they are pretty
all in the same condition. It's not just a mileage thing, the foam
breaks down over time due to air exposure.
Also, *personally* I'd want the holes in the seat to line up with the
holes in the floor. Those are the strong points and I really don't want
me+seat+g-force going through some other bits and bobs in event of a
shunt IYSWIM.

I seem to recall that you and I both live in the same area (Ystrad Mynach?).
Have you tried "A Touch of Class" up at Penallta Ind Est? They are an
upholstery company but Dane, who runs it, is a bit a petrol head and retrims
cars in leather as one of his 'party pieces'. He took a Ferrari 308 down to
Tredegar Park last Sunday - really nice job. You might persuade him to
re-foam your seat - although he'll try and persuade you to get it done in
leather - resist, RESIST.

Ooooh, good suggestion.
He's just over the road from me (I live in Forgemill).
I don't want leather, I just want new foam in my seats, because the
cover fabric is actually very good.

Sadly all too true. I once made the mistake of going to a dealer to get a
part for my Alfetta GTV (I was getting desperate) and was assured by a very
smug parts man that Alfa didn't make the GTV in 1982 and was I sure I didn't
mean 1992?
