Default When did the first WRX arrive?

Stupid question but, when did the first WRX arrive. More specifically,
what year did it arrive in the North American market?

Thanks in advance.

Glenn

First North American WRX was model year '02, to coincide with the
introduction of the new GD body style.

As others have said, the first was model year 2002. I picked mine up in
July, 2001.

Getting more specific, the GDx series WRX started selling in the NA
market in mid-March 2001 as a 2002 model (NA has lagged by a year behind
other markets: the GDx series WRX started selling ??/??/???? as a 2001
model in other markets).

Picked up my bugeye in late October 2001, Brent.
