Default Engine size questions on Pathfinder and Infinity 03

I have found a 03 QX4.. Does this have the same engine as the Pathfinder.
I'm reading 3.5L 240 hp on the QX4..
Does both of these have this engine. I got to reading on how piss poor the
gas mileage is on the QX4.. Is it as bad on the 03 Pathfinder.
Somebody fill me in on engine/gas mileage... Did either come with a smaller
engine. I understand the 06 has 4.0L 270hp??
Also the QX4 is a rear wheel pull . Are all of them rear wheel pull.. I
thought hey were all front wheel.
educate me

Tks

It sounds like you were fed some bad information by someone. The QX4 is
identical to the Pathfinder in any given model year. Same engine, same
body, same options, etc. They are either rear wheel drive or four wheel
drive. Expect 16 to 19 MPG on one of these with 2 wheel drive and the 3.5
liter 240 HP engine. Mileage is less if you have 4WD.

I get 17-19 MPG with my 3.5L '01 PF, except when I tow my boat trailer.

Default Engine size questions on Pathfinder and Infinity 03

This one is 03 with 32K, has both rear heated seats, GPS, just about
everything. I went to a Auction with a friend/small lot dealer.
I had pathy on my mind did not even know what a QX4 was until I saw this. I
have been reading up on this. I thought some pathys had a 160hp.
I bid 15K on this but seller did not sell. He wanted 17,200. Ends up my
friend knows of him and has bought his cars before.
I did offer $16,000. He came back 16,500 2 days later. This is for my
daughter, with 3 kids in college my money is real tight and I have it
figured to the penny what I can spend. Time I do Ins, giving my
friend/dealer $1,000. I was sure hoping he would take 16 and be done, I'm
just about to do the 16,500 though. So damn much car for the money. The
biggest turn off is it is 4x4. Hurts my gas . I thought all OX4 were 4x4.
Think a 02 pathy LE would be more in line for my money.

Thanks for everybody's feedback to set me straight

Another question might sound stupid but....

If you have 4x4 not locked in 4x4 does it mean it will not get as good
mileage as if it was 2x2 only?
Otherwords if its not locked in 4x4 it will get the same mileage as 2x2
only.

No, there is extra weight and parts spinning that wouldn't be in a 4x2.

FWIW, trucks are almost always RWD or AWD/4WD.

I have a 02 Qx4. same engine. Overall MPG average has been 19.6. I have had
as high as 25.2 through the mountain passes in Colorado in 2 wheel drive.
Did a day of some mean off road 4 wheeling and got 14 mpg. I am very happy
with this vehicle. And it handles great. WW
