I love my 2004 even if it only has a LS1 engine. I drives beautifully and kicks butt and takes names at traffic lights. I had a 1965 GTO as my first new car back in 65 and I can guarantee this one stops better is quicker and faster and gets better mileage, The 65 is much better looking though.

I loved the '67 for looks. Got to be one of the best looking cars
ever. And the 400 ci., 4 bbl was a great engine. A friend related
that his father modified their '67's engine by mounting the intake
manifold and 6-pack from a '66 on it. Made awesome power. The 389
and 400 were exactly the same engine. Pontiac bored the 389 out to
400 and put the 4 bbl carb on it to comply with the GM edict of no
more multiple carb cars.

All that being said, I love my 2005 GTO. Great power and good handling
and acceleration. Very comfortable to drive or ride in. I traded my
'97 Firebird convertible for the Goat. I miss the ragtop, but am
really happy I made the trade.
