Default 07 starting rpm's are high

Since this is my first Toyota I am not familiar with cold starts.
On a cold start the engine's rpm's are at 1500 and it takes a good minute
for them to drop to 1000 rpm's. Then after driving it the idle rpm's around
750.
Is this normal on the 4 cly. My other car is a Chevy Aveo with a Suzuki
engine and it
does not do this but does idle up on cold starts for about 30 seconds then
drops to normal idle.

My wife's 05 Highlander Limited does the same thing and it is a V6.
