Audi
Here we go:
175,000 miles v6 2.8 quattro wagon
Heads totally rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago
problem(s)
car feels like it is not running on all cylinders
things I have done:
replaced 4 of the plugs, front two plugs on both sides are stuck in the head. I do not want to force them out and strip the threads. The plugs I took out were black and stank of gas. Once I put the new plugs it ran the same. I checked the coil packs by pulling each wire off one at a time and 4 of the six coil packs sparked like crazy. The other two had very small spark. When the car is running, I pull off the wires one at a time of the coils that are firing poorly and the motors stays the same. It is almost like the two cylinders are dead.
Yesterday I pulled the back seat and found that pos battery post was full of corrosion. I cleaned the post and the cable, pos and neg, and reattached. Now the car started and it still ran the same way. So I pulled a coil pack off to see if it was broken from the underneath, grasping at straws. The coil packs were fine. So I put the seat back on at turn the car on and now the fun begins. All lights go from dim to blinding and dash lights up like a xmas tree and relays all over the place are clicking and I here the sunroof trying to open. I turned it off, waited a minute, and tried to start again and now nothing except clicking relays and flashing lights. Jump it with a battery pack and still won't start. Called AAA and they came and jumped it and it started, let in ran for 1/2 hour, turned it off and same thing. The battery is being tested as I write this, but the battery issue still does not explain the misfiring. I am totally lost and do not have alot of money to throw at this car. I am at a loss??????????????????????????????????
